To be honest, the interface is better than Google Search Console. Alternatively, you can manually add your website regardless of how you verified it. Click on &#8220;<strong>Add<\/strong>,&#8221; and the next step is to verify your website on Bing&#8217;s search engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Verify Your Website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can skip this step if you import your websites from the Google Search Console. Add an XML File to the root directory of your site<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, download the <strong>BingSiteAuth.xml<\/strong> file as indicated. Then, use FTP or log in to your web hosting control panel. For example, using cPanel, click on <strong>FILES -&gt; File Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cPanel-Main-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8323\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cPanel-Main-2.png 810w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cPanel-Main-2-300x130.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cPanel-Main-2-768x333.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have only one website hosted on your web server, the root directory is called public_html. If you&#8217;re managing multiple websites on a server, aside from the main domain&#8217;s website, the root directories of other websites should be named after their respective domain names unless you have customized them. Locate the root directory of your website according to your actual setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upload the <strong>BingSiteAuth.xml<\/strong> file you downloaded to the relevant root directory. Then, return to the Bing Webmaster Tools page and click &#8220;Verify.&#8221; This is the fastest method, as I have tried it myself, and it usually takes less than a second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">b. Add HTML Meta Tag to Your Website<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the most popular methods for verifying a website. Most search engines use this as the default method, and Bing does as well. Click &#8220;Copy&#8221; to copy the meta tag, as shown in the image below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"923\" height=\"271\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8324\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-6.png 923w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-6-300x88.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-6-768x225.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 923px) 100vw, 923px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, add the tag to the head section of your website&#8217;s homepage or default page. It should be placed within the <code>&lt;head&gt;&lt;\/head&gt;<\/code> section, but before the <code>&lt;body&gt;<\/code> section. Using a WordPress website as an example, there are two ways to add the tag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd38 Use WordPress Plugins to add the tag<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ll use Rank Math as an example. After installing Rank Math, you won&#8217;t need many other plugins. Click on <strong>Rank Math -&gt; General Settings -&gt; Webmaster Tools<\/strong> on the left side of the WordPress admin panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"531\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SEO-Settings-WordPress-1024x531.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8328\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SEO-Settings-WordPress-1024x531.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SEO-Settings-WordPress-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SEO-Settings-WordPress-768x398.png 768w, https:\/\/www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SEO-Settings-WordPress.png 1209w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Paste the meta tag you copied into the Bing Webmaster Tools form and save the settings. Then, go back to the Bing Webmaster Tools page and click &#8220;Verify&#8221; to verify your website. It may take a few minutes, but it is usually quite fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd38 Edit functions.php or heade.php files to add the tag<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> <em>This method will edit code, please operate with caution!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can add a meta tag to the <code>&lt;head&gt;<\/code> section by editing either <code>functions.php<\/code> or <code>header.php<\/code>. It is recommended to modify <code>functions.php<\/code>, and you should do this from the <strong>child theme<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.www.qingsongb2c.com\/en\/child-theme-for-wordpress-website\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Why use a child theme<\/a>? Because changing the file in the child theme ensures that if something goes wrong, the original theme files remain unchanged, keeping your website safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t have a child theme? Then, go back to the Bing Webmaster Tools page and click &#8220;<strong>Verify<\/strong>&#8221; to verify your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">c.
